Hi, I’m looking for work gardening, paving, painting, window cleaning, wood splitting, basic handman work and other odd jobs. $20 per/h. 

I have previous experience doing these thing commercially and lots of energy.  I’ve just graduated from univesity and am looking for a little bit of work to tide me by before I work out what I’m going to do next.

My name is Luke O’Brien, and my partner Midori and I have lived in Waterworks community for the past 4 years.

We run a tour guiding business for Japanese visitors, and we are looking for families in Hobart that would be interested in hosting a student from Japan for short periods. The students would be here to study English and experience family-life in a different culture to their own.

The host family would receive a weekly payment in return for meals and a room for the duration of the stay, and as we live in the street we are close by if any issues pop up during the stay.

Trish and Stu at 131 have a comfortable 3 bedroom shack looking past Huon Island to Bruny, just back from the low cliffs between Randalls Bay and Eggs & Bacon Bay – about 55 minutes from Hobart. An old Hydro house, it’s on a battleaxe-shaped, treed block of approximately 2.1 hectares, with a small dam, phone, power and tank water. There are lots of birds and native animals, and a track leads down to the beach, this being accessible only on foot or from the sea.

Says Trish “We would like to sell 2/3 of it to compatible people: valuations we’ve had suggest that a 1/3 share would cost between $100,000 and $120,000, though prices may have declined a bit.

We would all work out a set of conventions about using and maintaining the place. From having others use it, we have learned a few things about communication, clear expectations etc. We are retired and would have time to handle a booking system and be the first stop for any issues that arose, if that suited the co-owners.”

* Also a king size matress:  sleepmaker, microcoil, hotel luxery, still good and firm, no stains or spills but punctured on several spots, so needs patches with iron-on patches (good for playroom to jump on, shack…??).
