Looks like our quinces should still be OK to sell fresh at fair. Intend to offer sheets with free recipes for jelly, jam, paste etc. Sue at 105 has a simple one for pickled quince (to accompany meats, vegie dishes etc). If there are lots they could probably be sold fresh at the fair. Lots waiting to be converted to yummy stuff - the sooner the better. Doubt that they'll last as fresh fruit till 29th. Quince jelly is always a seller, by the way if anybody is making any. I will be making rhubarb chutney, but am really short of small jars with lids, in case anybody has any lying around. We'll give them away to any community members or friends who are willing to make quince jam, jelly or paste for the Fair (and keep some for yourself if you wish). We can supply a recipe for quince paste, which is superb with both soft and hard cheeses, cold meats etc. If interested, post a comment here or contact stall co-ordinator Jane via email link above asap.
