QUINCE RECIPES? Looks like our quinces should still be OK to sell fresh at fair. Intend to offer sheets with free recipes for jelly, jam, paste etc. Sue at 105 has a simple one for pickled quince (to accompany meats, vegie dishes etc). Does anyone else have 'tried and true' recipes which can be copied?

Have you tried them freshly stewed, sensational!
If there are lots they could probably be sold fresh at the fair.
(ours are nowhere near ripe either - there are obviously big differences in micro-climate throughout the valley)

Still no takers for the QUINCES. Lots waiting to be converted to yummy stuff - the sooner the better. Doubt that they'll last as fresh fruit till 29th. If no takers soon for the Fair produce we'll have to start selling them to others.

Have some spare jars and bottles for Chris or anyone else who wants to collect them from us.

Interesting, our quinces don't ripen before April. Quince jelly is always a seller, by the way if anybody is making any.

I will be making rhubarb chutney, but am really short of small jars with lids, in case anybody has any lying around.

We have QUINCES just becoming ripe now. We'll give them away to any community members or friends who are willing to make quince jam, jelly or paste for the Fair (and keep some for yourself if you wish). We can supply a recipe for quince paste, which is superb with both soft and hard cheeses, cold meats etc. If interested, post a comment here or contact stall co-ordinator Jane via email link above asap.

Wondering if anyone has access to honey/comb, esp. from local area. A good addition to a produce stall.
